Federation Square is a major venue for culture, arts and public events in Melbourne Australia.

The 8 acre square is situated in the CBD (Central Business District) at the corner of Flinders and Swanston Streets.

Flinders Street Station is conveniently located across the street from the city square.

Federation Square was scheduled to open in 2001 to celebrate the centenary of Australia's Federation but didn't officially open until 2002.
